The Ore of the Alps UNESCO Global Geopark is, along with Steirische Eisenwurzen UNESCO Global Geopark and Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark, currently the third UNESCO Geopark in Austria. The Carnic Alps are operated as a National UNESCO Geopark. Cooperation partners of Ore of the Alps UNESCO Global Geoparks are UNESCO Global Geopark Inselsberg – Drei Gleichen in Thuringia and the National UNESCO Geopark Porphyrland in Saxony, Germany. A strategic partnership is in place with “Eiszeitlandschaft Chiemgau”, in particular with the Natural History & Mammoth Museum in Siegsdorf / Bavaria and Salzburg University. All partners of Ore of the Alps UNESCO Global Geoparks are united by a sincere desire to foster good, long-term collaboration.
